Begin the 3-hour journey to an ancient rock fortress located in the cultural triangle of Sri Lanka. At Lion Rock, selected by King Kashyapa (477 – 495 AD) as his capital, discover the ancient palace at the top, still decorated with colorful frescoes.
Situated near Sigiriya rock, visit the Golden Temple of Dambulla in Sri Lanka, the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex of more than 80 caves. Major attractions are spread over five caves, which contain statues and paintings.
Continue to the Minneriya Safari, and spot a large number of wild animals, especially elephants, roaming in Sri Lanka jungles.
