Perched high above the ground, this rustic tree house offers stunning views of the surrounding forest, lake and grasslands, giving you a bird’s-eye perspective of the lush greenery.

s evening settles in, immerse yourself in the tranquil sounds of the forest awakening—leaves gently rustling and the distant calls of wildlife. Just a short walk from our eco-lodge, your guide will prepare fresh roti on a wood-fired stove right before your eyes, while additional dishes are thoughtfully crafted and brought over from the lodge. Enjoy the warmth of a private bonfire as you savor your meal under the stars.

If you're fortunate, you might catch a glimpse of elephants and other wildlife wandering gracefully through the forest, moving through their natural habitat. This rare and breathtaking experience is one of the highlights of staying in our watch hut, offering you a unique window into the untouched beauty of Sri Lanka’s wild landscapes.

In the morning, wake up to the sounds of birds chirping and the fresh air of the jungle. Enjoy a local breakfast at your camp, and perhaps take a walk through the forest trails together with your guide to further explore the rich biodiversity of the area. The watch hut not only offers a unique and adventurous experience but also allows you to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life, reconnecting with nature in its purest form. It’s a truly magical and memorable stay for nature lovers and adventurers alike.

A camp toilet with a water closet, shower, and wash basin is located near the watch hut. While the hut is quite basic and lacks electricity, all linen, sleeping bags, and pillows are provided. Our eco-lodge, Back of Beyond Wild Haven, Dehigaha Ela, fully staffed and only 500 meters away, will offer any backup support needed. A guide, who will stay in a separate tree hut, will be with you most of the time.

The cost is for two persons and is inclusive of dinner and breakfast.
