Explore the ancient cultures of Sri Lanka on an 8-day tour of Kandy, Colombo and the historic capital of Anuradhapura. Marvel at Buddhist and Hindu temples and stupas and much more.

Day 1:
Get a meet and greet at Colombo International Airport, and then journey to the ancient capital of Anuradhapura in the North Central Province to check into your hotel for the night.

Day 2:
Explore the historic sights of Anuradhapura, including the Buddhist temple of Isurumuniya and the pre-Christian garden architecture of Ranmasu Uyana. Learn more about ancient cultures at the Anuradhapura Archaeological Museum. See the sacred fig tree at the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi temple and visit the stupas of Ruwanwelisaya and Thuparama. Get some time for lunch before seeing the Samadhi Statue and stupa of Abhayagiri. Visit a moonstone mine and the guard stones of Rathna Prasada. Admire ancient artifacts in the Abhayagiri Museum and look at the stupas of Lankarama and Jetavanarama before returning to Anuradhapura for your overnight stay.

Day 3:
Visit the historical site of Polonnaruwa to see the most iconic attractions of Sri Lanka's 2nd most ancient kingdom, such as the Parakrama Samudra irrigation system and the statue of King Parakramabahu. Visit the royal palace, see the remains of the Kumara Pokuna marble pond and more.

Day 4:
Visit the rock fortress of Sigiriya, and spend the night in Dambulla, known for its pre-historic burial sites and the best-preserved cave temple complex of Sri Lanka.

Day 5:
Visit the Dambulla Archaeological Museum and explore the cave temples of Dambulla. See the Aluvihare Rock Temple and the ancient stone Nalanda Gedige temple before spending the night in Kandy.

Day 6:
Visit the Kandy Archaeological Museum in the former King's Palace at the Temple of the Tooth, along with Gangarama Temple. Break for lunch and then visit the Gem Museum and Kandyan Art and Craft Center before watching a traditional dance show in the evening.

Day 7:
Return to Colombo via the Highway Museum of Kiribathkumbura. Visit a tea factory and Dawson Tower, built in memory of the man who helped build Sri Lanka's 1st modern highway. Stop for lunch in Pinnawala, known for its elephant orphanage. Get some free to shop and relax in the oceanside park of Galle Face Green in Colombo.

Day 8:
Benefit from an early morning transfer to Colombo International Airport in time for your departure.
