Bucharest: 4-Day Medieval Transylvania Tour

Visit the most important medieval landmarks in Transylvania, from the famous Peles and Dracula Castle to the beautiful Biertan fortified church and the historical Rupea Citadel.
Visit the most prestigious castles in Romania during a 4-day tour from Bucharest. On the first day, you will visit two of the most famous castles in Romania: Peles and Bran Castle. You will then visit the Rasnov Citadel, a citadel that was erected in 1335, before heading to Brasov where you will spend the night. The second day will begin with Fagaras Citadel, one of the few fortifications that were never conquered. You will then visit one of the oldest archeological sites in Romania, Rupea and the Saxon village of Crit. The rest of the day will be reserved for visiting Sighisoara, where you will find the only inhabited medieval citadel in Europe, the Sighisoara Citadel.

On the third day, you will be visiting some of Transylvania's villages with fortified churches, such as Richis and Biertan. You will then explore the largest medieval fortress in Romania, Alba Carolina, and visit Corvin Castle. Its Gothic style is underlined by tall towers decorated with dragons carved in stone, seemingly taken out of a fantasy novel. 

Your fourth and final day will begin with a road trip to Sibiu, where you will take a city tour. You will then pass through the Carpathian Mountains, driving along the bank of the Olt River while enjoying the beautiful landscape. Your final stop will be at Curtea de Arges, where you will visit one of the most beautiful Orthodox churches in Romania and the necropolis of the great kings of Romania. You will then head back to Bucharest for your departure.
