Experience one of the most popular and enchanting walks of eastern Madeira on a walking tour of the Levada da Serra de São Jorge from the Queimadas Guest House. Marvel at the cascades of the Caldeirão Verde waterfall, see typical houses and more.
Depart from the Queimadas Guest House at the start of a hike along the Levada da Serra de São Jorge, one of the most popular scenic walks in eastern Madeira.
Enjoy stunning views of an emerald green paradise, including magnificent vistas of the villages below you shortly after the start of your hike. Pass a waterfall and some small tunnels en route to the incredible cascades of the Caldeirão Verde waterfall.
After a picnic lunch, continue towards Santana, famous for its traditional Madeirense houses. Hike through green pastures where cows graze, and discover some of the most remote sites of Madeira along the way.
