Visit the famous clay lick of parrots and macaws, enjoy this incredible tour that will allow you to contemplate how the birds feed on this clay wall at dawn.
Our trip will begin with the pick up from your hotel in Puerto Maldonado at 3:00 am, we will head to the Tambopata River, this will be a trip of approximately 2 hours. Then we will board a boat to go into the Tambopata National Reserve.
We will contemplate how the sun begins to rise, it will be an incredible sunrise. We will arrive at El Chuncho clay lick, we will wait a few minutes to see the parrots reach the clay wall with the first light of dawn.
We will observe how these colorful birds arrive to feed, we will also see small macaws that come and go in search of their ration of mud.
After this excursion we will head towards a lodge, crossing a trail where if we are lucky we will be able to see the most popular inhabitants such as sloths. In addition, we may also encounter other mammals such as capybaras and deer.
Once we arrive at this lodge, we will enjoy a delicious lunch. Then we will take a short hike and finally return to the city of Puerto Maldonado, arriving at approximately 3:00 pm.
