Day 1: From Cusco to Manu
Begin your journey on our Manu Tours from Cusco with an early morning pickup at 4:00 am from your Cusco hotel by private transport. We start by heading to Paucartambo for a breakfast featuring Andean flavors, then proceed to the Acjanaco viewpoint for the spectacular Tres Cruces sunrise. Descend into the mystical cloud forest, entering the buffer zone of Manu National Park (Peru). Pause to observe the colorful cock of the rock and other birds guided by our expert. By midday, we arrive at Atalaya Port on the Madre de Dios River for lunch, before embarking downstream into the Peruvian Amazon rainforest. After lunch and a traditional afternoon nap, enjoy river tubing down the Palotoa River for about an hour. Return to the lodge to prepare for a night walk around Caiman Lake, seeking nocturnal creatures before dinner.
