Let yourself be amazed by Palccoyo, an incredible and very colorful place made up of 3 Mountains of Colors, a stone forest at more than 4900 meters above sea level and a spectacular view.
Our adventure begins very early at 6:30 am with our guide who will pick us up from the hotel and then transport us about 2 hours and 30 minutes to the South of Cusco, exactly to the community of Colca, where a delicious buffet breakfast awaits us. At this point we will be around 30 minutes, we can also take advantage to make last minute purchases such as gloves, hats, chocolates, candies, sunscreen, which are necessary for this excursion. After our delicious breakfast we will travel about 2 hours to the Palccoyo base camp, and on the way we will visit the 3 Checacupe Bridges, (Inca, Colonial and Republican Bridge) we will also have the opportunity to get to know this beautiful Colonial town and its well-known Church and learn about the experiences of its inhabitants. During the journey from Checacupe to Palccoyo we will be able to observe beautiful landscapes such as giant mountains, glaciers, colorful valleys with llamas and alpacas around. We will also have contact with the people of the communities and get to know their lifestyle and culture. As soon as we arrive at the Palccoyo base camp, we will receive a brief explanation and recommendations from our guide and we will begin the hike, which lasts approximately 45 minutes (each section). During this tour we will be able to see beautiful colorful landscapes and we will pass through different viewpoints until we reach the main one to be able to observe the 3 Rainbow Mountains of Palccoyo, and we will also be able to observe the imposing Ausangate. (The highest mountain in Cusco, 6380 meters above sea level). At this point, we will take a break to eat our snacks while we listen to the explanation of our guide. After the break, we will have free time to explore the place on our own and take the best pictures. Then we will continue our hike to the Palccoyo Stone Forest, where we will reach 5000 meters above sea level at the highest point. After visiting the Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain and the Stone Forest, we will descend for about 30 minutes to the parking lot to take our transport and return to enjoy the Picnic Lunch, observing the views of the spectacular landscape that includes the Palccoyo Mountain. Finally, after having enjoyed our Picnic Lunch, we will return to the city of Cusco for 2 hours, returning to the hotel where the tour ends around 5:30 p.m.
