Contemplate the unique beauty of Peru's natural treasures. Explore deserts and rugged cliffs, all next to the ocean.
Paracas is the first Marine Reserve in Peru that includes marine waters.
Due to exceptional biological diversity, generated by the Humboldt Current and coastal upwelling that occurs throughout the year, this part of the Pacific Ocean is one of the most productive and rich in the world. Also considered a wildlife refuge, in this natural area there are 224 species of birds, more than 180 species of fish and 20 species of cetaceans.
The reserve also offers historical and cultural wonders that are manifested in 114 registered archaeological sites and that are testimony to the fruitful interaction of the ancient inhabitants of Paracas with the sea. The Paracas reserve has been declared a Ramsar Site under the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance in 1991. This excursion can be scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Our visiting program lasts approximately 3 hours, although it can also be extended to 4 hours to explore some of the geological phenomena typical of this notable stretch of the peninsula, such as the panoramic views and the white and red sand beaches, bordered by colorful sedimentary rocks, blue and turquoise waters, and the cold waves of the Pacific.
Our itinerary is as follows:
-Pick up at your nearby hotel in Paracas.
-Visit the information center prepared by resident biologists in the Paracas National Reserve.
-Short walk to see flamingos.
-Travel along the coast to the highest mountain of the Paracas Peninsula (Itsmos de la Península de Paracas).
-Visit Red Beach for a photo stop.
-Visit Lagunillas beach, opportunity to have lunch on your own (local seafood restaurant).
-Finally I visited Yumaque beach for a photo stop
-Back to the hotel. End of our excursion.
