This tour takes you to discover one of the most amazing treasures of the Inca legacy: the Q'eswachaka Bridge, the last living Inca bridge, built entirely of plant fiber. With a length of 28.67 meters, this bridge is rebuilt annually in June by four local communities, keeping alive an ancient tradition that has been declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The adventure begins early, at 4:30 a.m., with pick-up at your accommodation in Cusco. At 5:00 a.m. we will depart for our first stop in Combapata, where you will enjoy a delicious local breakfast. Then, we will continue to the Combapata viewpoint to appreciate the breathtaking views of the valley, before continuing on to the district of Yanaoca.
After an hour's drive, you will arrive in the district of Q'ewe, home to the famous Inca bridge of Q'eswachaka. Here, you will have time to explore the site and learn about the fascinating history of this Inca engineering masterpiece, while your tour guide provides details about its construction and the annual community renovation process.
Afterwards, we will continue our journey to the beautiful lakes of Pampamarca, Asnaqocha, Acopia and Pomacanchi, where we will stop for lunch amidst idyllic scenery. During this stop, you will be able to observe the abundant flora and fauna of the region, a perfect opportunity to connect with nature.
Before returning to Cusco, we will make one last stop at the Rumipunku portal, a site full of history. The tour concludes around 5:00 p.m., leaving you with unforgettable memories of this unique experience that combines culture, history and nature in the heart of the Andean world.
