If you love ornithology and are in Cusco, you cannot miss this bird watching activity in the Huacarpay lagoon, a wetland with great Andean biodiversity.
At the appointed time, we will pick you up from the meeting point in Cusco and head to Huacarpay Lagoon, one of the best places in the region for Andean bird watching.
During the trip we will stop to enjoy a delicious breakfast. Upon reaching Huacarpay Lagoon we will take a short walk to the first viewpoint of the day.
This is a cabin where we will be able to spot the first birds flying over the lake. Great crested grebes, torrent ducks, Chilean flamingos and Andean gulls are just some examples of what you will be able to see. So stay tuned!
Then, we will continue walking until we reach the southwest side of the lake, from where we will be able to observe the mountain bearded hummingbird. Did you know that this is one of the few places where they can be observed? We will also tell you many facts about the flora of the lake. It will be an unforgettable experience!
Finally, with our cameras full of incredible photographs of the Huacarpay Lagoon, we will return to Cusco.
