Ausangate Trek 5 days 4 nights

Ausangate is an imposing snow-capped peak known for its extraordinary beauty and Andean worldview.
Day 1: Cusco – Ocongate – Comunidad de Tinki – Upis
Our great adventure towards the Nevado Ausangate in a 5-day and 4-night hike begins with the pick-up at your respective hotel at 5:00 a.m., once located in our mobility we will leave the city of Cusco traveling along the southern valley route towards the district of Ocongate (3,530 m.s.n.m).

After 3 hours of travel we will be arriving at the town of Tinke (3,770 m.s.n.m). In this place we will enjoy a delicious breakfast, also here you can visit the market and do some shopping before starting the walk.

It is time to start our walk to Upis (4,400 meters above sea level), approximately for 3 to 5 hours, during the tour we will be able to get our first views of the Nevado Ausangate, likewise we will appreciate some locals doing their domestic activities.

Day 2: Upis – Paso Arapa – Yanacocha – Laguna Pucacocha
Very early in the morning we will enjoy our delicious breakfast and then we will continue the walk ascending for approximately two hours until we reach the Arapa pass (4,850 m.s.n.m) throughout this journey we will be very close to the Nevado Ausangate we will be able to appreciate the beautiful landscape that surrounds it between Flora and fauna.

Then we will descend until we find the appropriate place to have lunch, then we will continue walking along a route where we will be able to appreciate wild animals, herds of llamas and alpacas until we reach the Yanacocha lagoon that is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and incredible landscapes.

Day 3: Laguna Pukacocha – Ausangateqocha – Abra Palomani – Huchuy Phinaya
It is our third day and we begin with our energies recharged for more adventure, for which we will first enjoy a delicious breakfast prepared by our chef.

This day we will start the trek earlier ascending for around two hours towards the third pass, the Ausangate pass (4,750 m.s.n.m), from this point we will get incredible views of mountains and snow-capped peaks that are around us.

We will continue with our descent towards the Palomani pass which is located at 5,200 meters above sea level, this is the highest point of our entire journey, then we will descend for another two hours towards the community of Huchuy Phinaya (4,650 meters above sea level), during the walk we will be seeing South American camelids such as: llamas, alpacas and wild animals such as the Vizcacha.
Day 4: Paso Jampa – Pacchanta
We are on our penultimate day! Like every morning we start the day enjoying our delicious breakfast. We will start with the walk for approximately two hours until we reach the Jampa pass (5,070 m.s.n.m).
Day 5: Pacchanta – Comunidad de Tinki – Ocongate – Cusco
We arrived at our last day touring the Nevado Ausangate, the whole adventure is about to end. In the morning we will have breakfast and the option to enjoy the thermal baths.
