This walking tour will take you to discover this impressive city, which has a lot of history, culture, and one of the best cuisines in Peru. Explore the Andean Sanctuaries Museum of the Catholic University of Santa María, and marvel at its incredible collection of mummies, in addition to its perfect state of conservation.

San Lázaro neighborhood

After picking you up from the hotel located in the historic center of the city of Arequipa, we will begin our tour walking through the colonial district of San Lázaro, where the city of Arequipa was founded, and the oldest neighborhood in the city. 30 minutes

Alpaca World Arequipa

We will explore Mundo Alpaca, an excellent place to learn about the textile world, about the process and production of alpaca fiber, highly valued worldwide. You will be able to appreciate these beautiful animals, also llamas, that live in a natural space. 20 minutes

San Francisco Plaza, Church and Monastery

We will pass through Plaza San Francisco. We will see in a panoramic view the church of San Francisco, built in the 17th century and restored on different occasions due to earthquakes. On the way to the Plaza de Armas, we will see colonial mansions such as the Casona Tristán del Pozo, with a beautiful baroque style entrance from the 18th century. 10 minutes

Main Square

Then, we will panoramicly visit the Plaza de Armas and the Municipal Palace, and admire the spectacular architecture around. The Cathedral, the Church of the Company founded by the Jesuits in the 17th century, and the Church of San Francisco from the 16th century, are jewels that stand out for their beautiful buildings. 30 minutes

Andean Sanctuaries Museum

We will visit the Andean Sanctuaries Museum, an archaeological museum with a very interesting collection of various artifacts that belong to the Inca culture with an approximate age of 500 years, and an exhibition of mummies from ancient Peru. You will be able to appreciate the good state of conservation of the famous lady of Ampato, as well as the mummification process used to keep her in good condition.
