A few kilometres from Arequipa, you will find a city of quarries to explore. Discover the formations and sculptures that adorn this city of stone, enjoying a tour of the famous White City.
Our itinerary will start with pick-up from your accommodation in Arequipa at 8:50 a.m. We will head towards the Sillar Route, a historic Peruvian road. First, we will visit a viewpoint to enjoy breathtaking views of the volcanoes surrounding Arequipa, before continuing our journey.

Want to discover the origins of the sillar stone? Our first stop will be at the Añashuayco Quarry, where we will observe local artisans working the stone and learn about the carving process. We will also be able to admire the deep canyon of cliffs formed by the quarrying of the ashlar.

From the Añashuayco Quarry, we will drive for about 30 minutes until we reach the Quebrada de Culebrillas. This canyon will invite us to explore its walls that reach up to 20 metres high, and we will venture on a walk of approximately 20 minutes through its interior.

Our last stop on the Ruta del Sillar will be to discover the canyon's petroglyphs, mysterious figures carved into the stone whose meaning has not yet been deciphered.

Finally, we will return to Arequipa around 13:00 h, concluding our excursion.
