From Tromsø: Small Group Northern Lights Tour

Go in search of the northern lights in the countryside outside of Tromsø, away from the city lights. Be amazed by Norway's arctic wilderness, and visit some of the best locations with a guide who will make sure you have the experience of a lifetime.
Join this night trip to the wilderness in northern Norway on a quest for the best spot to see the northern lights. Drive away from the light pollution in the city to different remote destinations, depending on the weather conditions. Your guide will decide the route based on the most up to date weather forecasts, sometimes driving all the way to the Finnish border.

In the region there are many different microclimates, so it is possible to find clear skies even when it is cloudy in Tromsø. After you have met your guide, you will make a stop to dress up in thermal clothing. During this stop there will be a short introduction and time for you to set up your cameras and listen to some photography tips. Then you’ll start the hunt for the northern lights.

Once your guide has found the best spot to enjoy the aurora borealis, you’ll stop and wait for the lights to appear. If the conditions allow it, you can make a bonfire to keep warm. Relax, enjoy a warm homemade meal, get to know your group, and photograph the amazing natural phenomenon of the northern lights. During the trip your guide will help you with your camera and will take additional photos, to share with you after the trip. At the end of the tour you will be dropped off at your hotel in Tromsø.
