The Sailung Trek is a captivating hiking route located in the central region of Nepal. It offers a less crowded and off-the-beaten-path experience, making it an attractive choice for trekkers seeking tranquility and serenity.
Kalinchowk Trek:

Kalinchowk is a scenic trekking destination situated in the northeastern part of Nepal, about 132 kilometers from Kathmandu. The trek takes you to the Kalinchowk Bhagwati temple, which is a revered Hindu pilgrimage site dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati.
The trek usually starts from Charikot, the district headquarters of Dolakha, and it takes around 6-7 hours of moderate hiking to reach Kalinchowk Temple. The trail winds through lush green hills, charming villages, and dense rhododendron forests, offering panoramic views of the Himalayan peaks like Gauri Shankar, Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, and others.

Kalinchowk is particularly famous for its stunning sunrise and sunset views over the snow-capped mountains, making it a popular destination for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts.

Sailung Trek:

The Sailung Trek takes you to the picturesque Sailung Hill, located in the Dolakha and Ramechhap districts of Nepal, east of Kathmandu. The trek is known for its tranquil environment, terraced fields, and breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys.
The Sailung trek is less crowded compared to some of the more popular treks in Nepal, offering a peaceful and authentic experience. The trail passes through various traditional villages, where you can interact with the friendly locals and experience their unique culture and lifestyle.

One of the highlights of the Sailung trek is the stunning sunrise and sunset views. As the first rays of the sun touch the snow-clad peaks, the scenery becomes truly magical.

Both the Kalinchowk and Sailung treks can typically be completed in about 3 to 5 days, depending on the starting point and the pace of trekking. The best time to embark on these treks is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons when the weather is pleasant, and the views are clear.


Itinerary

Day 1 : Drive to Kuri from Kathmandu (5 hour, 3447m) Overnight stay at Kuri village.

Day 2 : Early in the morning hike up to Kalinchowk for the sunrise and mountain view ( 3842 meters) after some times hike back to Kuri and drive to Melung ( 4 Hour) Overnight stay at melung.

Day 3 : Drive to near Sailung (3-4 hour) overnight stay at Sailung.

Day 4 : Early in the morning hike up to Sailung for the sunrise and explore the Sailung( 3-4 hour) and back to Melung overnight stay at melung

Day 5 : Drive to kathmandu from Melung.
