Enjoy a boat trip down the tranquil canals and floating gardens of Xochimilco, stroll through the quaint streets of Coyoacán, explore Frida Kahlo’s famous Blue House, and discover the grounds of the city’s most famous university on this full-day tour.
Float along the tranquil waterways of Xochimilco, in a colorful boat called a Trajinera, sipping on a drink and eating regional snacks prepared on the "restaurant boats" dotting the waterways. Listen to the sounds of the mariachis permeate through the air as you sail past the beautiful floating gardens, and then continue your tour to the neighborhood of Coyoacán, favored by some of Mexico's most famous artists and writers. Stroll its tree-lined cobbled streets, admiring the stucco and tile facades of its beautiful colonial houses.
Next, make you way to Casa Azul, the former house of famed Mexican paintress Frida Kahlo. Gain insight into the life of this iconic painter and her famous husband, Diego Rivera and stroll through the picturesque garden, which, with its Mesoamerican pyramid, is also a sight to behold. The last stop of the tour is to the campus of the Central University, home to the Olympic Stadium from 1968 and adorned with murals by a number of Mexican artists.
