Tucked away in a quiet alley in Tsukishima, Tokyo, there is a hidden gem that transcends time. 'Studio ICHI' is a one-of-a-kind studio space created from a 100-year-old renovated traditional Japanese house. Produced by the samurai team ‘KATANAYAICHI,’ we offer a new form of 'omotenashi' (Japanese hospitality). Here, you can enjoy not only samurai experiences but also photography and video shoots, as well as traditional Japanese sweets and matcha tea. Immerse yourself in a deep and rich experience of Japanese culture that you can only find at Studio ICHI.

Step 1: Gathering
The meeting place is a traditional Japanese house built about 100 years ago.

Step 2: Kimono Dressing (15 minutes)
We offer several types of kimonos, so you can choose the one you like. The hakama is a garment worn on formal occasions, and if you wish, you can also select a hakama. By combining a kimono with a hakama, you can enjoy a more formal attire. Our staff will assist you carefully with the dressing, so the kimono dressing will be completed in about 15 minutes, allowing you to experience traditional Japanese clothing.

Step 3: Photo Shoot (15 minutes)
A professional samurai actor will guide you through 2 to 3 poses during the photo session. The shooting style and theme can be customized according to your preferences, offering a tailored experience. The photo shoot will be conducted with lighting by our staff. A replica sword will be used for the photos, and the high-resolution images will be provided to you immediately. All services are included in the fee. The photo session lasts approximately 15 minutes.

Step 4: Transition (5 minutes)
After the photo shoot, enjoy walking around the town in your kimono. Then, we will move to a nearby spacious training area.

Step 5: Samurai Experience (30 minutes)
In the samurai lesson, you will learn the basic movements of swordsmanship in 30 minutes. You will use a wooden sword and a professional-grade replica sword, providing an authentic experience. The lesson begins with basic forms, including how to hold and swing the sword, followed by face-to-face practice with the instructor. Finally, you will engage in a practical exercise in a one-on-two confrontation format

Step 6: Transition (5 minutes)
We will return to the traditional house.

Step 7: Matcha and Wagashi (Japanese traditional sweets)Experience (15 minutes)
