Enjoy a private day trip from Rome to the ruins of Pompeii and the modern day city of Naples, traveling by comfortable Mercedes. Your tour includes 2 hours with a guide in Pompeii, a lunch stop on the slopes of Vesuvius, and free sightseeing time in Naples.
Following your hotel pick-up, your driver will drive directly to the entrance of Pompeii, situated on a volcanic plateau on the southern slope of Mt. Vesuvius. Learn the tragic story behind the everyday Roman town as you wander the streets between former houses and shops. Relive the last moments before they were buried by the eruption of Vesuvius.
Marvel at the Marina Gate, and Basilica (Court House). See where the citizens gathered at the Stabian Baths and Theatres. You will even visit the old brothel (Lupanar), and a former bakery. Admire mosaic tiles at sites such as the House of Faun and House of the Tragic Poet, as well as plaster casts that depict Pompeii's residents caught in the poses at the moment they died.
