When in Rome... visit Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. Your English-speaking driver will pick you up at your accommodation in Rome and drive you to Pompeii for an exciting guided tour. Walk around the ancient city while you get a guided tour of its history, Mount Vesuvius' eruption and how the Romans lived. You will see all the most important public buildings and private houses.
Afterwards, enjoy lunch at a typical restaurant, pizzeria or winery. In the afternoon you'll visit Mount Vesuvius. At the top of the volcano is a crater rim that allows a view into the crater that still smokes slightly. Besides that, you will have a stunning panorama of the Bay of Naples, Capri, Ischia, the edge of the Sorrento coast and more. The last 500m is a very steep uphill walk, and closed-in shoes are essential. After the tour the driver will drop you off at your accommodation in Rome.
