Experience the Kumbh Mela, a significant Hindu festival that occurs every 12 years in one of four designated cities in Allahabad, India. Participate in the festival's rituals, such as bathing in sacred rivers, religious processions, and various ceremonies.
Day 1: Arrival in Varanasi
Arrive at the airport and transfer to a pre-booked hotel. Later, visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Annapurna Temple, the Bharat Mata Temple, Sankat Mochan (Hanuman Temple), Manas Mandir, and BHU. Proceed to release ashes along the river. In the evening, experience the Ganga Aarti. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay in Varanasi.
Day 2: Varanasi - Prayagraj
After breakfast, proceed to Allahabad. On arrival, check in to your pre-reserved tent camp. Visit the Triveni Sangam, a point where the three rivers meet: Ganga, Jamuna, and Lamp Saraswati. Visit Anand Bhawan and the Lying Hanuman Temple. Retire for the night in the tent camp.
Day 3: Prayagraj – Main Bath
The day is free to explore the Kumbh Mela. The fair involves ritual bathing at Triveni Sangam, a confluence of India’s three great rivers. Bathing in the holy river during the auspicious occasion is believed to wash away one’s sins and free one from the cycle of re-birth. Retire for the night in the tent camp.
Day 4: Prayagraj – Sightseeing
After breakfast, proceed for a sightseeing tour of Allahabad. Begin at Allahabad Fort, a Mughal fort built in the 16th century. Visit Akshya Vat, a sacred Hindu fig tree inside the fort complex, and Hanuman Temple, India’s only temple with the reclining posture of the Lord Hanuman. Overnight in Allahabad.
Day 5: Prayagraj – Varanasi
Drive to Varanasi and check in to a hotel. Freshen up and proceed to Sarnath, a place 20 km away from Varanasi City. This is the place where the Buddha preached his first sermon to his five disciples and so Buddhism came into existence. Later, Emperor Ashoka established a number of stupas and monuments to spread Buddhism.
Through the stupa, which are a house of relics, manuscripts, and fascinating inscriptions, Ashoka depicted Indian History, development of Buddhism. Chaukhandi stupa fascinates the visitors with its beauty and grace. After sightseeing, retire for the night in the hotel.
Day 6: Varanasi Enjoy Boat Ride & Departure
Early in the morning, take a boat ride on the Ganges. Watch people offering water to the Sun God and devotees taking a holy dip in the Ganges. Visit all the famous Ghats of Varanasi via boat. Come back to the hotel for breakfast and check out. Later, transfer to Varanasi Airport for your onward journey.
