Go to Theotokos Monastery via a short footpath that takes you to the top of the hill. Get the best views of the area from the summit, and then journey into Corfu Town. Take a stroll through Spianada Square to admire the British-era City Palace, the Venetian castle of the Old Fortress and the arcades of the Liston, built during the French occupation if the island and charmingly lit by Venetian lanterns.

Visit Saint Spyridon Church, built in 1596, where the distinctive red dome of the bell tower, filled with silver treasures, is the tallest on the island. Amble down the narrow streets of the Old Town and interact with the locals as you purchase local produce such as kumquats from traditional shops.
