Join me on a unique walking tour around Dresden-Neustadt's natural side. Many visit for its party vibes but let me show you its natural beauty over Summer from a newcomer's perspective.
We start our tour at the water fountain in Martin-Luther-Platz at 10 am. From there, we will walk towards our hiking area, Dresdner Heide - Sanddüne.
We will walk around 15 minutes along the back streets, passing the only Jewish cemetery in Dresden to its entrance. We will stop at a local, family-friendly Spati to pick up drinks and snacks for the hike.
We enter the woods and follow the Priéßnitz (stream) to Küchenbrücke (Kitchen Bridge), around a 7km round trip. Longer trips to Prießnitzwasserfall and SandMine can be arranged.
After our slow, relaxed, peaceful walk, enjoying the sounds of the birds and running water. We head back along the popular Kamenzer Strasse, passing the famous Alaunpark where we will stop to enjoy a traditional GDR frozen yoghurt after our hike.
Depending on your schedule, we will stay in Alaunpark and play games like table tennis and badminton. The tour concluded at 2pm.

I'm sure you know what you need for a hike! It can be a few degrees cooler in the woods so if you feel the cold, I suggest a garment that you can take off mid-hike as you will likely warm up. I will let you know on the day if there are any changes due to weather. I look forward to meeting you :)
Depending on the way you enter Martin-Luther-Platz, you will face the front or back of the church. Make your way to the front entrance (across from Llyod's Cafe), where you will see a water fountain surrounded by seating and gardens. Please meet me there for the start of our tour together. If you have any concerns, please call me as I live close by and can direct you.
