On Bodom lake, the largest in the Helsinki region, located just 25 minutes from central Helsinki, with Backpacker Helsinki Tour enjoy an ice fishing initiation using the Pilkki, the Nordic fishing rod!
On the lake, we will walk in order to find the ideal place where there is the best chance of catching fish. I will then explain how to make a hole in the ice and how to use the pilkki. Then it's up to you! You will be ready to catch lots of fish!
At the end, in a Laavu, the traditional refuge, I will make a fire to be able to grill the makkara, the traditional sausages. There is also an option for vegetarians. I will also serve you a delicious glögi as well as piparri, traditional cookies. We'll drive back to Helsinki center.
