From Addis Ababa: 10-Day Bale Mountains and Omo Valley Tour

Embark on a 10-day adventure from Addis Ababa to the Bale Mountains, the Omo Valley, and the Rift Valley. Discover the diverse wildlife, landscapes, and tribes of Ethiopia.

Day 1: Addis – Bale
Transfer from the airport to the Bale Mountains. Arrive in Dinsho before lunch. Check in and relax before an afternoon walking tour. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Dinsho – Sodota
Spot wildlife on a morning walk before breakfast. Continue trekking for 6-7 hours. Relax and observe the viewpoint, looking for the endemic Ethiopian wolf. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Sodota – Wasama
Depart for trekking to Wasama Mountain. Arrive in time for lunch. In the afternoon, walk around the beautiful Wasama Valley and look for the Ethiopian wolf. Overnight at a campsite.

Day 4: Wasama – Garaba Gurach (Black Lake)
Leave for Garba Gurach Lake, a 6-7-hour trek. Relax once you arrive and have a picnic lunch. Walk to the lake and return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Garba Guracha – Sennett Plateau
Depart for Sennett Plateau, meeting with a vehicle to continue driving to the Haranna Forest. Stop to spot wildlife and have lunch. Once you arrive in Haranna Forest, have an introductory game drive and overnight camping.

Day 6: Haranna - Awassa
Depart for Hawasa, arriving to check in and have lunch. Spend the rest of the day with boat trips and a walk around the beach. Have lunch at a hotel along Lake Awasa and spot more hippos. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 7: Awasa – Arbminch
Depart for Arbminch after breakfast. Continue driving with stops on the way for lunch, view stops, and to visit the Dorze tribe. Short drive to visit the Dorze tribes who live on the Guhe Mountain. Overnight in Arbminch.

Day 8: Arbminch - Turmi
After breakfast, take a boat trip on Lake Chamo and view some of the largest crocodiles in the world. Continue driving to Turmi, stopping at the Konso tribe village. Overnight in Turmi.

Day 9: Turmi - Omorate - Jinka
Travel towards Omorate on a 75-km asphalt road to visit the Dassenach tribes. Cross the Omo River with a local boat and continue walking to one of the villages. Return to Turmi and continue to Jinka for lunch. Drive to the Mago National Park to visit a Mursi tribe village.

Day 10: Jinka - Addis Ababa
Transfer to the airport for a return flight to Addis Ababa. Arrive in the afternoon and enjoy a traditional dinner before your flight home.
