A representative from Sun Pyramids Tours will pick you up from your Cairo hotel and transport you to Alexandria for a great day tour. Go to Pompay's Pillar first. At the end of the fourth century, it was built in recognition of the Emperor Diocletian. It was originally a beautiful building that rivalled the Soma and the Caesarean, the Serapis temple. Then you take a drive to the Catacombs, the greatest Roman cemetery, which is made up of three levels dug out of the rock. Lunch at a neighbourhood restaurant in Alexandria is followed by a visit to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the Qaitbay Citadel, which was constructed on the location where the ancient pharaohs (lighthouse) of Alexandria once stood. Finally, you'll take a car back to your Cairo hotel.
