Climb the 4,199-meter-high Pasochoa Reserve throughout the duration of 4-6 hours. This medium-difficulty hike is an excellent acclimatization trek that can be used as preparation for other more challenging mountains.
Your tour begins as you are collected from your Quito accommodation, from where you travel to the Pasochoa Reserve. The reserve is a beautiful 4,199-meter-high mountain. This 4 to 6-hour excursion is an excellent acclimatization trekking that can be used to prepare for more challenging mountains, such as Antisana or Chimborazo.
The highlight of the Pasochoa Reserve hike is its humid cloud forest, located inside an extinct volcanic crater near Quito. There you can see 50 endemic species of Andrean trees and more than 100 species of birds.
The trek in the Pasochoa Reserve is of a medium level and crosses incredible prairies of Páramo and cloud forests that have an impressive Andean fauna. This includes bulls, horses, hummingbirds, the Viridian metal tail, mountain tenets, crest cotinga Red, and the occasional Andean condor.
