Experience a unique climbing adventure that will take you into the heart of a waterfall exposing hidden pools, spectacular mountain views, and thrilling suspension bridge crossings.
Enjoy a thrilling 1.5-hour introduction to via ferrata climbing. This unique experience uses cable, iron rungs, pegs, bridges, and ladders, allowing you to climb routes that may not be accessible otherwise.
Your adventure begins at Twin Falls Waterfall, located 20 minutes from Wanaka. You will meet your guides, grab your helmets and harness and head over to our practice climb for your safety briefing. Once you have mastered the practice route, join a small group of no more than 5 people per guide - ensuring your safety throughout the experience.
After a short walk up to the cliffs, the real fun begins. On this beginner route, spend approximately 1 hour scaling vertical and horizontal rock climbs, crossing suspension bridges over pools and discovering hidden waterfalls. At the end of this trail, take the opportunity to stop for a small snack and drink, admiring the stunning panoramic views over farmland, mountains, and Lake Wanaka. If you feel like you're climbing journey is over, begin a 15-minute descent back down the mountain to the base of the waterfall.

• The experience requires a combination of hiking, rock climbing, and walking so it is recommended that you have a moderate level of fitness to participate
• Please note, participants must have full body mobility
• You do not need any climbing experience, your expert guides will assist you
• The minimum age/weight for this experience is 10 years/40kg
• There is an area where you can leave items that you do not need at the base of the waterfall
• Bring a camera at your own risk, if you have a GoPro it is recommended to attach it to your person or ask a guide for a helmet with a slide attachment
• It is recommended you arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time
Please reach the Wildfire, Twin Falls waterfall. You will see a locked farm gate with the activity provider’s sign on it. Please meet at this gate in front of the waterfalls.
From Wanaka town, follow the Wanaka-Mt Aspiring Road west along the lake. Drive towards Treble Cone Ski Field and Mt. Aspiring National Park. After 20-minute there will be a cattle stop. Pull out immediately to the left in front of 2 massive waterfalls.
