The playful deer are known to be quite bold, so keep your snacks safe—they may try to snatch them right from your hands!

Explore Todaiji Temple (Entry: ¥600 for adults, ¥300 for children)
This impressive temple is home to the world’s largest wooden structure and the Great Buddha, a towering statue of Vairocana Buddha that stands over 15 meters tall. Discover Kasuga Taisha Shrine (Entry: ¥500)

It's not just about the food—Uji is also a literary haven, being the setting of the final chapters of The Tale of Genji. A visit here feels like stepping into a world of ancient Japanese nobility and romance.
