Embark on a breathtaking three-day journey from San Pedro de Atacama to Uyuni, exploring stunning highlands, colorful lagoons, and the vast Uyuni Salt Flat.
Day 1
The trip begins at 7:00 AM from San Pedro de Atacama, traveling by mini bus to the Bolivian border, where immigration procedures for both Chile and Bolivia are completed. Upon reaching the Bolivian border, situated at an altitude of 4,400 meters.On this first day, the group explores the Bolivian highlands, visiting sites such as Laguna Verde and Laguna Blanca at the base of Licancabur volcano, the Daly Desert, hot spring pools, the Sol de Mañana geysers with water erupting at 90°C, and fumaroles emitting volcanic lava. The day concludes at Colorada Lagoon, a primary nesting area for over 30,000 flamingos of three different species. These locations average an altitude of 4,500 meters, providing opportunities to observe local flora and fauna, including flamingos and vicuñas. The night is spent at a hotel. Offering private single, double, and matrimonial rooms.
Day 2
Departure at 8:00 AM. The journey continues through the Siloli Desert, where unique rock formations shaped by wind erosion can be seen. The tour proceeds to several highland lagoons, known for their colors: Laguna Honda, Cañapa, and Turquiri. The route includes the Valley of Rocks and the Alota Wetlands, passing through the town of San Cristóbal and ending in Colchani.
Day 3
On the third day, the tour focuses on the Uyuni Salt Flat, covering 12,000 km². Depending on the weather, the group will witness the sunrise over the salt flat before embarking on a tour across its vast white expanse to reach Incahuasi Island. Here, visitors can hike trails leading to the island's highest point, offering a 360° view of the salt flat. The tour also includes a visit to the Salt Museum and the Dakar monument, followed by a stop in the town of Colchani. Additionally, there will be a visit to the Train Cemetery before concluding the adventure in the city of Uyuni.
