Explore the city of El Alto with our awesome guides, learn what the Cholets are while you see many of them from our cable cars and check out inside these famous and extravagant Cholets.
Visit the city of El Alto! During this tour you will be able to experience the hustle and bustle of this busy neighboring city that used to be part of La Paz but eventually grew so much that it decided to claim it's independence and autonomy. We will start in La Paz at the San Francisco church, the meeting point is right by the main door of the church. From here the guide will take you in a public transportation to the central cable car station, you will ride the cable cars up to El Alto and right through a busy area of this city, from the cable cars you will be able to see a ton of this super cool looking Cholets, and while you enjoy the views the guide will explain what they are all about and where the come from and how the whole Cholet fever started! These super luxurious and extravagant houses have many huge and colorful decorations and all kinds of different themes, but they are not just cool looking from the outside but also on the inside. Since these are privately owned venues for events it's not that easy to be able to check them out from the inside, so we took it upon ourselves to make sure you could visit at least 2 of these places so you can see them and be able to take some pictures of these unique buildings inside. Afterwards we will take to a very impresive part of the city of El Alto which is the apartment buildings decorated by the famous artist Mamani Mamani. They are masive, colorful works of art that you will most definitely enjoy. After this we will take you back to La Paz and drop you back at the San Francisco church.
