Travel from La Paz with your guide to Chacaltaya Mountain and contemplate the magnificent views of Huayna Potosi and Lake Titicaca.
Pick up at the hotel at approximately 8:30 a.m. to go directly to Chacaltaya, a mountain with an altitude of 5,300 m.a.s.l. More than 80% of the Chacaltaya glacier melted between 1987 and 2007.
The glacier was one of the highest in South America.
Upon arrival at the refuge, you will have the opportunity to hike to the top of the mountain.
You will also be able to appreciate the wonderful view of the Huayna Potosi and Illimani mountains, Lake Titicaca and parts of the city of El Alto.
Walking up and observing all the scenery takes about an hour and a half, then down, and back to the car to leave for the Valley of the Moon.
Arrival at 13:30 to the Moon Valley. This valley has a particular rock formation similar to the lunar surface. When you are there, observe different types of trees and plants (native to the area), including the San Pedro cactus. The visit lasts approximately one hour.
Finally, arrive at your hotel around 4:00 pm.
