Climbing the top tree peaks in Bulgaria for 3 consecutive days.
We present a mountain hiking program for people above average level of physical condition, the tours are one-day long with departure from Sofia, transport to the starting point in about 2 hours. A licensed mountain guide will be responsible for your safety at all times. The hikes last about 8 hours per day, as every day the program is about 12 hours with transport from Sofia and back. The reservation for overnight stays is your choice and carries no commitment and we do not give a price, WE ONLY PROVIDE shared transport and the guide service.
DAY 1- climb Cherni vrah, the fourth highest in our country, it is located in the Vitosha mountain, the transport is about 1 hour from the center of Sofia to the starting point, 1500 meters above sea level, you walk outside a forest belt with a breathtaking view of Rila mountain, Sofia field and the capital. The journey takes about 2.5 hours in one direction, with a 1-hour break at the summit at an altitude of 2290 meters. In total, the journey takes about 9 hours by transport.
DAY 2-VIHREN peak located in Pirin mountain starting point about 2.5 hours from Sofia by transport. The hiking tour starts from Vihren hut 1970 meters above sea level 3 hours is the climb to the top in the direction of 2914 meters above sea level the 2nd highest peak in Bulgaria, about 1 hour break for lunch . Return by transport to Sofia as the tour is about 12 hours long.
DAY 3-climbing the summit of the Balkans MUSALA peak - 2925 meters above sea level. About 1.5 hours from Sofia, the starting point is a cable car that takes us from 1000 meters above sea level to 2300 meters in 35 minutes 2 directions. We go along a marked path outside the forest belt, beautiful views on a flat path after about 1.5 hours we start climbing to the top which takes 2.5 hours, we cross an ice lake the highest in the Balkans located at 2700 meters above sea level. Secured by a metal rope we reach the highest peak in the Balkans MUSALA, lunch for about 1 hour and back along the route. The duration of the entire transition with transport is about 12 hours.
The recommended equipment is a backpack of about 40 liters, mountain shoes, long-sleeved clothes, poles, sunglasses, sunscreen, windproof jacket, raincoat...
